#01. The giant Moa birds
Moa is giant flightless birds that inhabited the territory of New Zealand. They reached up to 3 meters in height. They disappeared in the 17th century, believed to have been exterminated by Maori who settled on their lands. During an expedition in the 20th century, scientists came across a huge claw of Prince Moa, which was incredibly well preserved over the centuries.

The perfect stonework of the Sacsayhuaman temple complex in Peru was built without the use of a drop of mortar. This is really amazing. Between some of the stones, it is impossible to pass even a sheet of paper. In addition, each block has a smooth surface and rounded corners. How was this achieved by the ancients? No one knows.

The Gate of the Sun can be found in Tiwanaku, an ancient and mysterious city in Bolivia. Some historians believe it was the center of a vast empire from the first millennium. No one has any idea what the signs carved into the surface of the monument mean. They are supposed to have some astrological or astronomical significance.

The Longue Caves were one of the last great archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. They are not natural formations but dug by human hands. To achieve this, the labor of thousands of people would have to be used. And yet, nowhere in the historical sources is there any mention of such an event.

This ancient complex was discovered by accident by diving instructor Kihachino Aratake. The underwater city of Yonaguni confounds all scientific theories. The rock from which it is carved was submerged underwater about 10,000 years ago – long before the Egyptian pyramids were built. According to science, in this period of history, people still lived in caves and did not have the necessary knowledge to build such stone cities.
#07. Mohenjo-Daro (“Mountain of Death”) in Pakistan
The mystery behind the demise of this ancient city has baffled scientists for decades. In 1922, the Indian archaeologist RD Banerjee discovered ancient ruins on one of the islands in the Indus River. Soon after, questions begin to emerge. How was this great city destroyed? What happened to its inhabitants? Numerous excavations have not yielded any answers so far.

This archaeological site in Canada was once a settlement founded by the Vikings about 1,000 years ago. The fact that the Viking settlement of Lance o Meadows exists indicates that Norse sailors reached North America long before the birth of Christopher Columbus.
#09. The underground tunnels of the Stone Age, passing through all of Europe
The discovery of a vast network of underground tunnels stretching across Europe from Scotland to Turkey shows that Stone Age communities were not simply hunter-gatherers. But the purpose for which these tunnels were created still remains a mystery. Some researchers believe they were used as protection against predators.
